The New CD

Have you finished composing the songs for your new CD in English?
Right now I'm looking for someone to work with, but I'm going to bring it out in a way a little bit more 'underground', not with all the promotion or with all the machinery of my previous CDs, but in a more calm way, because I don't want it to coincide either with the Spanish.
I like when a song is born in English and remains like that, without making those famous versions. Is that the idea of Alejandro Sanz for this CD?
The songs that I have in English I wrote them in English. What's happening is that obviously I want to work with someone who can help me a little to perfect my way of expressing things because many times I have to be translating what I write and the truth is that it's a little difficult.
I read that the idea of the English CD is that it's more organic and this wasn't what the record company was thinking, but that you were going to do it like that.
Exactly, I want to do it like this because firstly I've never believed in those adaptations. Either they're really very good or they just really don't work, because well, you know that when a song is made so that they can adapt is sometimes they turn out terrible, and it happens equally when they go from English to Spanish. I want to leave it like this and I know that it's not what the record company were hoping for but I'm going to do it my way.
Will there be an opportunity with this more organic English CD to see you in more intimate concerts?
I won't dismiss that either, because well, I like the small theatres. One of the things that I want to enjoy on the American tours is that I've played in big arenas like American Airlines in Miami but also in small places for 4 thousand, places for 3 thousand, so I've really enjoyed that.
What I love about El Tren De Los Momentos is that it's very romantic. Will the album in English be like that?
Well it's different, the truth is that when you compose in a different language things come out sounding different. I think that it's going to surprise you, you're going to like it because it has an essence above all at the time of singing quite rhythmic. It happens to me like that sometimes in Spanish, I don't know how to explain it but the result is different.
Are you going to have any guest musicians on the CD?
At the moment I don't have anyone planned.
