Studying a degree at university, college, or a conservatoire. All the information you need to take your education to the next level. Not sure if uni or college is for you? Find out what else you can do. Mature students often balance their studies alongside work or caring responsibilities.
Mature students are a valued part of our community, making up around 15 per cent of our undergraduate population. As a mature applicant, you are expected to meet our normal entry requirements unless you also meet our definition of an adult returner - someone who has had a continuous gap of at least three years in their formal education, and who has not already gained a degree. More information on entry requirements for adult returners is available on our mature students website and our College pages.
At Sussex, we appreciate the experience and knowledge mature students bring to our University. We accept students with a range of qualifications and backgrounds, including students who apply on the strength of wider experience rather than formal academic qualifications. If you have been away from education for some time, we recommend you take an academic qualification before applying.
